All CCTV systems operate on either 5V or 12V DC. Most cameras are 12V DC and portable recorders or all in one systems are 5V DC. Please use 1.5V, AA size Alkaline or Lithium batteries (5X power vs. Alkaline). We do not recommend NiMH rechargeable AA batteries since they are rated 1.2V which will under power the system.
